Privacy Policy
MarginNav is operated by Dudás Digital Studio, a Swiss sole proprietorship based in Lugano. Full company details are available in our Legal Notice.
This policy explains what information MarginNav collects, why, and how you can access or remove it.
1. Account and profile information
When you create an account, we store your email address (via our authentication provider, Supabase) and, optionally, your name and restaurant name if you choose to provide them. If you sign in with Google, we receive the information Google provides for that sign-in.
2. Your restaurant data
MarginNav stores the information you enter to run the product: your restaurant details, menu, ingredients, ingredient prices, recipes, and the daily sales quantities you log. This data belongs to you and is used solely to calculate and display your dish-level costs, revenue, and profit.
3. Payment information
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. MarginNav never sees or stores your card number or other payment details — these are handled entirely by Stripe. We store only what's needed to know your subscription status (such as your Stripe customer reference and whether your subscription is active), never your actual payment method.
4. Error monitoring
We use Sentry to detect and fix technical errors. When something goes wrong, we may record the error message, the page where it happened, and your account ID — never your business data (dish names, prices, revenue, or similar), and never your password or payment details.
5. Browser storage
MarginNav uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, and save your onboarding progress. Separately, it uses temporary session storage — which clears itself when you close the tab — to briefly hold sales entries you're in the middle of typing before you save them. MarginNav also sets one functional cookie, `sidebar_state`, which remembers whether your navigation sidebar is expanded or collapsed, lasts up to 7 days, and contains no personal information. This is not third-party tracking, and MarginNav does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
6. Your rights
You can download a copy of your data at any time from your account settings. You can also request deletion of your account. Once requested, there is a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel the request. After 30 days, we process the deletion. Some business records — such as historical sales figures tied to a restaurant — may be retained in anonymized form, with your personal identity removed, so that the restaurant's own financial history remains accurate and intact.
7. Legal framework
MarginNav is operated under Swiss data-protection law. If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area and applicable EU law (such as the GDPR) applies to our processing of your data, you also have the rights provided under that law.
